good eats.

Today, Kelly D. read my post from yesterday and he said something along the lines of, “Holy desperate cry for attention Batman”
Just for the record, I was soliciting questions for post topics, not begging for love. Not that I’m above that, because I’m not. And love and attention are both things I’m fond of.
But Brooke left a comment about reviewing local eateries and this is an idea I love! Because as much as I love attention and love, I love good food more.

Anyone who knows me will probably expect a review of The Dodo. But, I won’t be that predictable. (But just in case you are going to try that place for the first time, get the roasted tomato polenta cakes for an appetizer, house salad, and spinach/mushroom/feta quiche)

For this post, however, I want to tell you about Vito’s. Have you been? If not, let’s go! I have gift certificates out the wazoo! But no kidding, it’s the best Philly Cheesesteak you’ll ever eat in Utah. It’s located in downtown Bountiful in a parking lot at 100 South 100 East. He’s one dude in a trailer, taking orders and cooking all by himself. There’s a jar on the counter where you pay and make your own change. For $5.50 you can get a sandwich, bag O’ chips and a soda.
And Ohhhhh baby, is it good.

i love this! we’ll be moving home sometime in the near year or two future, and one thing i’m kindof dying about, is all the great food and restaurants we’ve become accustomed to, and i love hearing about what’s popped up while we’re gone! cabe’ll be happy he doesn’t have to leave his philly cheesesteak love behind…

utah got a sephora, now if we could just work on a few more stores… :)

I need to stop by there, it’s always busy! I have tried various places in Salt Lake claiming to have the best Philly steaks around, but they weren’t as good as this place in my hometown called Jersey Subs. I’ll check it out… :)

I have now heard about this quite a few times and sadly, I have never been. EVEN MORE SAD is the fact that I consider myself a lover of good man sandwiches. VITOs=MAN SANDWICHES! I have a love obsession with Reubens, PHILLIES, anything spicy sloppy, as well as pastrami and flavored mayos and ANYTHING mustard.
SO, long of the short, I will be trying Vitos and I believe I will be trying him this Thursday at the Farmer’s Market. I’ll tell him, “Kelly sent me.”
I will also take pictures and blog about it.
And then we will get my baby some watermelon because she loves it.
Oh, I love food.
My mind is traveling so fast right now.
Thanks for the suggestion.

I love Vitos. I have only eaten there once since Marley was born, and I’m not on Main street any more. But he has good stuff! The Philly is great! Greasy. Great! But I also love the pan seared ravioli. It’s something about his marinara sauce. Just enough spice. So good, in fact, that tomorrow for lunch I need to go there!

Oh, look how late to the party I am! Internet time has been scarce since the man’s been away and I’ve been playing single parent. Thanks for the review Kelly- I knew deep down I needed to try Vito’s out and now I will for sure!
