Firtht Lotht Tooth!

Today Josh and Tate were arguing about something rather minor and I heard Josh say, “What the hell are you doing Tate?” Now, I haven’t the faintest idea where he heard that phrase, but there it was nevertheless. :) I have told him to stop saying that many times and that the next time I heard it, I would wash his mouth out with soap.
So, there we are in the bathroom and he was kind of freaking out, so I thought I’d go a little easier on him. I put a little soap on a wash cloth and tried to put it in his mouth. He was fighting it by trying hard to keep his mouth closed, so I had to pry it open with the wash cloth.
He started to laugh a little because I think we both realized how ridiculous the whole scene was, but that caused his mouth to open up just enough for me to wedge the soapy wash cloth in there. As soon as I got it in there he starts coughing and making a gagging sound, so I immediately pull out the cloth in fear of being barfed on. (if you know Josh, you know why this is a worry.) I look down at the white wash cloth and it has blood all over it. Josh and I both looked at each other like, ‘What the……???’ and then I notice that he’s missing a tooth! His very first one! We searched all over the floor for it but it’s gone. I think he swallowed it, and that is what caused the coughing and gagging. It was already loose, but I must have pushed it just enough while prying his mouth open.
Isn’t that just a heart warming story of one of the precious rights of passage in a child’s life?
missing tooth
Without the tooth to leave under the pillow tonight, we’re thinking a note and a polaroid will do the trick.

It must be the season, Jake lost his two front teeth on Saturday and ended up swallowing the second one while eating pizza. Wow look how clean Josh’s teeth are! Don’t go too crazy with the Tooth Fairy money, if you start high he will expect big bills every time. Love ya, Rachel

Rachel is right about the Fairy money. The small teeth should be coins, because they are small and more of them. You can go nuts on the molars.

That story is hilarious! I remember when Katie lost her first tooth. She screamed bloody murder. I thought the neighbors would call the police for child abuse. I love your blog. Beck is the cutest little guy ever!

I hear the tooth fairy gives more if they pull it themselves too. What a funny story. We love reading about the world through your eyes. Never a dull moment.
