Who is this chick, anyway?
My name is Kelly. I am the wife of a superhero, the mother of three little boys, and a sweet dog named Molly. This blog is about the people and things that inspire me.
I have a passion for photography. I started a business shooting portraits and weddings, but left that behind to become a man-child factory. My husband, also named Kelly, now handles the studio without my help. He is better at it than me. I try not to let my bruised ego get in the way of our marriage. I still take pictures everyday, I just don’t get paid.
I have found other outlets for my creative tendencies. I love to make jewelry, garden, cook, entertain, and write.
I love Ernest Hemingway and the movie Chicago. I forced myself to like pickles, I am kind to animals, I drink too much Mountain Dew, and I am often paranoid. My favorite band of all time is the JudyBats. I love to watch cooking shows on TV and sometimes when I make dinner, I pretend that I star in one of my own. The best part of my day is when I get into my pajamas.
I LOVE being a mother, but complain about it frequently.
I write things on this blog that I want to remember when I’m old and wrinkled. I am trying to capture what it’s like to be me right now. I spoon with my dog while I sleep, and I love to travel. These are my chronicles…

my wife hailey loves your site and we are wanting to make some changes to our family site. http://www.thekandells.com We love your husband too, he takes all our photos. Please email me what program you use to publish your website. Thanks
I don’t know you, but I happened upon your site one day while I was googling something photography related and I’ve been back many times to look at your pictures and read about your adventures with your family (does that make me a stalker??) and I just wanted to tell you that you are my inspiration, both as a photographer and a mother…
Hi Kelly! I just found your blog after seeing your interview on Blogs We Luv (my own blog was featured on there last week, so I’ve been checking back regularly every since). I have to say I really love your blog, and I’ve enjoyed reading your posts. I have 2 boys who are 3 and 5, and I also love photography (especially scrapbooking those photos!) so feel that we have a bit in common!
I hope you won’t mind if I add you to my blogroll?? Feel free to say hi on my blog if you have time!

Great blog… love the “leaving my mark” photo… a snail. I myself am on the slow plan. I also am a creative mother (4 sons and 1 daughter) Keep up the inspiration.

“Man-child factory” got a snicker out of me.
Hey! I found your website while searching for a Mickey Mouse cake to make for my son’s birthday. Funny thing is our last name is also Sansom!
Hi Kelly,
I don’t remember how I found your blog (friend of a friend somewhere), but I absolutely love it. You are so awesome! I wanted to sign up for your photography class (I live in Layton) but I’m not sure I can make it work out with babysitting and such. I was wondering if you would consider scheduling a private class for a couple of hours one morning? I just got a Nikon D40 for my birthday and need some help getting started. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Shauna
Kelly,
I feel like I know you though I’ve never met you. Your husband has shot our family and extended family multiple times (like everyone else in Davis County & Utah, in general). He IS great . . . but as I can see, so are you. We also share a dear friend, Brooke Liljenquist (how I found your blog).
Thank you so much for the contents and quality of your blog. It is refreshing to see someone who shares a love of Home, Motherhood, all-things-artistic and who peppers everything with a brillant sense of humor. GREAT combo, girl. Great combo.
So, I thought say hello . . . since I’ll surely be checking in regularly from here on out.
Best,
Amanda
Hey! I am just a customer of Gallery Photography (your husband did my wedding) and I saw this link on his website. I LOVE the bird invitations you made and I am wondering where/how you did the birds on the front of the invite??? I would love to know. You are very talented. Thanks,
Lindsey
