I think this is becoming a problem.
Hello, My name is Kelly and I’m a Barbie-holic. I am 34 years old and I have all male children, yet, I couldn’t stop myself from buying this at Target today.

A few months ago, I brought my childhood doll house home from my parents basement. I thought that it would be a fun thing to have for my friends’ little girls to play with when they come over, and since we now have this big playroom in our newly finished basement, we have room for it.
Since it’s been here, I have redecorated the two bedrooms, and when I say redecorated; I mean I have put in new carpet, repainted, hung pictures on the walls (so cute by the way, I got these perfect little frames from the craft store), sewn bedding and pillows, and purchased unfinished doll furniture which I have painted and antiqued.
I have plans for the kitchen and bathroom, too.
Why? Why am I compelled to do this? My boys do actually play with them sometimes, much to Kelly D’s dismay…but they say things like, “this Barbie has a force-field and you can’t kill her” or “mine is a Ninja Barbie and she fights crime when everyone else is sleeping.” But the point is, that they don’t care if the bedding matches the freshly-painted butter-yellow walls. I don’t even think they notice the terrible haircuts I gave some of the dolls when I was little. (they’ve seen better days, see below)

When I’m cleaning up the toys, I will dress the Barbie’s in cute little outfits and position them so they can have conversations while I’m gone. I sometimes even put Ken on the toilet with his pants around his ankles. It makes me giggle.
I can’t stop myself. I think I might be going crazy. Please, send help. Or…. come play with me. But I get to be Teresa. She’s got the best hair.

Just try for one more- maybe it would be a girl! Fat chance huh?
Oh Kelly, I never knew you had such a love for Barbie’s. I have to admit, I was a Barbie girl. I loved to make my dolls sing and dance and ride horses. It was like my alter ego was able to come out with my dolls. Thanks for rekindling a great childhood memory!
That is hilarious!!! I wouldn’t think you would be a barbie girl, good to know. Now I know what to buy you for Christmas/Bday! If you are ever really hurting for someone to come play with you i am sure Rylee & Jenna would love to!
It’s because you have all boys! If you had girls, you would be out playing hoops! And…maybe you’re just a little crazy.
