From today.
Kelly D. is at scout camp until tomorrow. I miss him. I don’t sleep well when he’s not here. But you know what I REALLY miss? My vehicle. It’s large. Plenty of room for car seats and kids. He took it with him to haul a bunch of teenage boys up to camp.
Did you know that Kelly just traded his car in for a new little Volkswagen GTI? We’ve only had it for like, two weeks. He loves this car. He’s washed it at least 8 times in the short time we’ve had it. He reads online forums about ways to pimp it out.
He’s a car person.
It’s not much of a family car, though. Only two doors. We’ve been surviving in it while he’s gone. It’s such a pain to get The Little Guy in his car seat in this thing! (life is so hard)
Anyway.
Today I was driving with my posse in the GTI and lo and behold, the oldest child, heir to the throne….christened the new car by barfing in it.
I was laughing so hard. Laughing and wishing that I could share this moment with my sweet husband. And then I remembered that my cell phone has a video camera.
I laugh every time I watch this. It may not be funny to everyone…but if you know my husband…you will know how much he hated receiving this pix message on his cell phone today! Why does that fact bring me such joy?
(he texted back only one word. “Nice.”)

I laughed out loud at the barf line. I can see KD’s face when he said ‘nice’. I have also seen the car and I appreciated your posse reference as well. Wasssssup boyeeeeeee!

Ah – I laughed so hard when I saw this!! I even played the clip 3 times and laughed harder each time!! I do feel for you though – Nathan did the same thing today – but fortunately we made it to the grass before he let it go in the car!!
Hmmmmmmm, I have a memory of previous Volkswagon…you wouldn’t dare turn it off when you went to trade it in, for fear it wouldn’t start again for them. A Corado (??) was it?? Good luck, with this one! Feel better Josh!

Ohhhh Poor Josh! That reminds me of the morning I took Chris’ brand new car to work and was rear ended on the freeway at full speed!!! He was none to happy, but when it came back from getting repaired it was all “pimped” out…spoiler, tint, new wheels. I think the “car thing” must run in the family! I think I drive the most pimped up mini van around!

I’m getting a sense that kids puke a lot. Though I can’t imagine (right now) being so okay with puke, this is totally something I would do to Caleb. Send him a video of me laughing.

That is hilarious. And I will agree with everytone that the best part was you laughing. I can just picture Kelly D., when he got this – thinkin’ he was gettin’ some cute video…nope. And the Fish didn’t have the heart to tell his dad what he had just done. Love it!
